NARM, the National Association of Rooflight Manufacturers, has developed a new website carrying comprehensive, up-to-date information for rooflight specifiers.
Established over thirty years ago, NARM is a highly active and influential industry association, currently comprising fifteen member companies and representing a complete cross-section of rooflight technologies, including glass, thermoplastics and GRP profiled sheets. The membership of NARM accounts for the majority of rooflights manufactured in the UK.
The new site provides detailed technical information covering all aspects of rooflight design and specification, with individual sections covering glass, thermoplastic and GRP rooflights.
The content draws on the combined technical resources of member companies, to provide an authoritative and objective resource for specifiers.
In addition to providing information relating to design, specification and legislation covering rooflights, the new website carries profiles of all NARM member companies, as well as a useful gallery of rooflight projects listed by sector.
There is also a catalogue of downloadable documents covering many aspects of NARM’s research into rooflight-related topics including: assessments of thermal performance: designing with rooflights and controlled artifical lighting to reduce CO2 emissions; and tests for non-fragility applied to GRP in-plane rooflights.
NARM is a member of CPA, the Construction Products Association and was originally instrumental in the inclusion of rooflights under Part L of the Building Regulations. NARM continues to represent the rooflight industry in consultation with the Government and its subcontractors, CIBSE, AECOM and the BRE, on issues relating to Part L.
