Three leading UK rooflight businesses, have recently joined the ranks of NARM….The National Association of Rooflight Manufacturers. Glazing Vision, Stoakes Systems and Twinfix, have all recently become members, taking the total membership to thirteen companies, further increasing the influence of NARM as the united voice of the UK’s rooflight industry.
Senior representatives from the three new member companies attended a recent presentation outlining the work undertaken by the Association on behalf of members.
NARM represents a complete cross section of rooflight business in the UK, including manufacturers and suppliers of in-plane profiled rooflights, continuous barrel vaults, modular domes and pyramids and architectural glazing systems utilising glass, thermoplastic and GRP glazing.
The Association is very active in pursuing its goals: to provide an authoritative united voice for the rooflight industry; to develop and maintain standards and codes of practice; to provide effective and objective information and advice for specifiers; and to contribute to and influence legislation relative to the provision of natural light.
As a member of CPA, the Construction Products Association, NARM is well placed to influence government lobbying and has recently played an important part in establishing classification for rooflights under Part L of the Building Regulations.
Recent NARM initiatives include commissioning and funding research; PR and advertising campaigns highlighting key issues and the provision of information via the Association’s comprehensive website and technical documentation.
NARM’s Chairman, Richard Lowe, said: “ We are delighted to welcome Twinfix, Stoakes Systems and Glazing Vision to NARM. Their commitment and contribution will add further capability and authority to our Association – which will in turn provide greater benefits for all our members.”
